Day 3 of Adventures of a wedding vacation
Day3 (25May)
Rehearsal Day
After being awaken by that mean sunbeam and that bird that I am going to turn in the oven, we let the kids play in that wonderful thing called ‘grass’ with the dog Payton who don’t realize that he is almost 10 yrs old. The Boy is having the time of his life playing catch over and over. I think he wants a dog. Finally convince The Man that we should just stay at the hotel 2 nights instead of driving back 1 and half hour late at night. We go up to Gurnee and The Man saw the holy grail of all stores “Pro Bass Shop”, and next we knew the tires are squealing and we are hanging on for dear life while he aim for the parking lot. LOL!! Shop for stuff, drooled over camping stuff and boats and finally dragged him to the hotel for check-in. Did you notice I didn’t mention anything about his sense of directions, that is because I and he remembered the way to Gurnee despite all the construction trying to confuse us. But wait, you didn’t think we would get away it that easily now did you?
Time to get to rehearsal. “Did you read the map?” “No you can help me” “No, let’s sit here first and look over the map to make sure we are going in the right direction” (In the middle of my request he pulls out into traffic and takes off. So now I have no idea what road we are on so we know we suppose to head east towards the tip of Wisconsin. I am frantically scanning the directions for street names/rtes/nums and he is yelling “When do I turn?!! I don’t live here, so how the hell do I know, this is your area”. Do you see where this going? Yep, we were suppose to turn left first then north then east. The Man is gripping over and over even though I only said it once “You couldn’t wait just one min and look at the map, so don’t gripe to me” We were only 30 min late and they had just started anyway, the way most rehearsals does.
The Girl gets up and recite her poem by heart and everyone just clapped. She was all smiles. The SILs are there (Younger SIL P drove in the night before) so we all talked and oh an ah’d over the kids. Niece V(SIL P daughter) had a very ugly red scrape on her nose, seems she fell when running while her Dad was watching the kids. Bride to be was not too faze by it. It was weird that only her nose was scraped up. Niece A (SIL J daughter)also was being a total pain by running around and trying to take Sean’s game from him. He was sharing with his cousin M and they was having fun quietly until she comes over and bugs them. The minister had us all confused since she changed things over and over. When we got to the Pizza grill place we were all laughing over how in the end no matter how confuse everyone was the bride and groom will be married. LOL!! I met and talked with bride’s Dad and step-Mom and they are really great people. So it seems we have a normal family joining us. Kids fell asleep and the old people headed out so it was time to pull the beer out of The Man’ s hand and go back to the hotel. Oh, we did make up just before we went into the church.
Day 4 (26 May)
It’s wedding Day!!!! and rainy.
So we head to the pool and swam for 2 hrs. The Man went to the store for a tie tack that we forgot. I spent the next 1hr on the Girl’s hair and trying to find cartoons for the boy. Everyone gets dress, okay let’s try that again, I dress the boy, try to dress the Girl without messing up her hair or ripping stockings. Get the Man’s tie tied and find missing socks, write out the money order gift and fill out the card. All in my underwear and no makeup, so when I am done with everyone else, I get this “Are you ready yet?” Yes, I gave him the look of death and retreated to the bathroom. In 15 mins I was as done as I could get with knocking on the door and grumbling.
We find the church with no problem this time. As we get out of the car, we hear The Girl scream and I see blood. Her molar fell out so I say ‘don’t touch your dress’ and come with me. Now this molar has been wiggly for months and it picked this time to fall out, thank goodness it wasn’t while she was saying her poem. Got to the bathroom and cleaned up, said hello to the wedding party and they oh and ah’d over Girl and told her that she was lucky since she is going to get cash!!! LOL!! Get upstairs and there is SIL J in all black down to her nail tips, and SIL P in bright red. Am I wrong but this is not a night wedding and isn’t those colors like an etiquette no-no? Anywho, the wedding went on even though the music wouldn’t play right, the vocalist wouldn’t sing without the music, the microphones didn’t work, and people was a little confused. Boy and his cousin M were the ‘bubble boys’ after the ceremony. They passed out bubbles to everyone as they came outside. It was so cute.
Most people headed back to the hotel to check in and wait for the shuttle. So of course, the bar was crowded as the Os are a drinking family. LOL!! Uncle B bought the kids Shirley Temples and they thought they were so cool. Shuttle driver was so funny driving us to the old mansion for the reception. A beautiful place!! China on the table and beautiful chandeliers hanging, Cake on the dance floor. Lost the men folks as they ran straight for the bar. The women folk signed the book, put money cards in wishing well, presents on table, and found table assignment. The bride had bags for all the kids (oh I forgot this was a limited kids allowed wedding, nieces and nephews only) that was invited filled with books and crayons.
Sighed with relief that we were not sitting with SILs but did notice our table was in the second row from the dance floor. WTF, The Man is his brother, oh well, we sat with cousin S who is pg with 2nd child, her son A (It was his 4th birthday too) who has become The Boy’s best friend and vice versa, her hubby and surprise, the Emcee/DJ. Mingled with other family members who I could not for the life of me remember their names but they remembered me especially the old people hugging me. Hmmmm…I wonder how they could remember me after not seeing me since The Boy was 2 months old, Oh maybe it is because I am the only black member of the family or maybe it is just my alluring personality. ROFL!!!!! On our way outside to do families pics The Boy and cousin A saw the cake and detoured toward it. I turned just in time to see the Boy had his finger at the corner and was just about to swipe a good chunk of icing off it. OMG!!! Got them both away and of course, now they are crying, just in time for pics. Crap! Pics are not going to be pretty.
Dinnertime! The food was good but the kids plates were better. They had chicken strips, fries, and green beans. That was so thoughtful to have kid foods instead of parents trying to get them to eat the adult stuff. Our soup was the best I’ve have ever taste in a while!! Breads ended up just being door stops. LOL! Cake was great! We had the spice part, the rest was red velvet, carrot, and vanilla. Not a very elaborate decorated cake either. Oh I forgot the toasts that was so heartfelt and had people crying.
Dance time!!! Nothing like a bunch of drunks dancing on the dance floor. LOL!! The kids dance their hearts out with BIL and SIL. She was so happy that she had the kids at the wedding now. Whenever hubby and I danced it was so nice and we did a lot of kissing and gazing into each other eyes until The Man noticed that we were the only couple that seem to be really into dancing with each other. Other then the bride and groom, the other couples just dance like statues staring into space. I guess we really do have that spark still after being together 11 yrs. The Man danced with his Mom and they looked good together. I am glad we got her that dress, it made her look so much better.
About MIL and SILs. When the Man found out that a lady from Mom’s nursing home was bring her to and from the wedding events he was pissed because the SIL J could’ve gotten her and let her stay in their room. Both SILs did not have to do anything prior to wedding since their daughters (flower girls) was taken by the bride to get hair done and other fun stuff early in the day. We didn’t have car room but they did. During dinner that is all he keep going back to so I filled him with more beer. I also made sure to tell the lady that we appreciate her doing that and made sure she was having fun. Do you think SILs bothered? Nope!!
The Boy passed out around 10p and I laid him on the floor on top of a blanket I bought from the hotel. (I was the only one that thought of that) with a couple more cousins. The Girl just danced her heart out until 11pm and then she just sat with Aunt V. You all know what the dancing looks like by 11pm right? It is called ‘the white people dance with the finger in the air and wiggling strange. ROFL!! I did not make up that name, Aunt V told it to me. The shuttle has been taking people back to the hotel and soon it was mostly the groom side of the family still trying to drink as much as they can and socialize to the last minute. We never leave a wedding til the absolute last minute. If it says till midnight, we are there til midnight. LOL!! Notice that the Man is gone with the Boy. So after packing up all the kids stuff, finding camera, and other stuff Girl and I head to lobby and there is The Man but no Boy, Aunt V and Uncle B took him with them on the shuttle. We was going to wait for the next one but Bride’s Dad and step-Mom said they would drive us back. They are wonderful people and I am glad a normal nice family has joined us. The Man is worried about the Boy waking up and missing us, but I reassured him that he is with his other favorite people and will be fine. (now remember this for the future entry to come, showing how even though Man has been drinking he is always concern about his children)
Uncle B decided that he wanted the Boy to stay with them in their room and I put the Girl to bed in ours. The Man hung out with the bridal party at the lobby bar and then moved to a party room. I watched from our window that weirdly overlooked the lobby. Someone bought me some White Castles and I finally called the Man to come to his room and go to bed, you are not as young as you use to be. LOL Thank goodness we have a room with a window that don’t look outside.
Tomorrow plans is going to see the ladies from my board playgroup. WooHoo!!
Sending a shout out of Love to my Blue-eyed Baby Boy that is having surgery tomorrow ((((HUGS))))

Happy Freaking Hot Summer!!!
I have about an hour to work on this before I have to go pick up Miss Grumpy at VBS.
It’s been a loooong time since I’ve been here. A month exactly!! Be warned this is going to take days to do.
Day1
When I left you all, we were headed to Chicago for my BIL wedding. After getting over my shock that hubby actually had his bags packed early, we picked up the Girl from school. Where all the kids had to give me a hug and a giant candle. With The Man outside in the truck with the Boy constantly calling me on the cell to come on, it was 9am and the flight was 1pm, I was able to get her signed out of school and we were on our way. 2 minutes later, Miss Grumpy is bawling her eyes out that she is going to miss everyone and she is going to miss doing stuff. Oh Geez, here we go with the drama!!
I whipped out the snacks and that quieted her down and with fresh batteries in the gameboys they were happy in the back. Meanwhile, in the front, The Man is already grumbling about directions to Phoenix airport. People even though it is 1hr and 35 mins away, we only have to drive on the interstate and there is the airport. If you miss the first sign/exit there is another exit, there are planes flying over the highway so there is no way you can miss the airport. This is just the beginning of the trip. Sigh!!
Make it to the airport and instead of taking my advice to drive around to an off airport parking lot instead of at the airport. No, He don’t feel like having to lug 4 suitcases, umm The Girl has the small one, I have the medium one and purse, Boy has his backpack and he will have the big one and hanging bag. They are on wheels, so what is the problem? He’s the boss so I check us in while he parks the truck. We sit an wait for his return, cell phone rings, “where are you?”” We are downstairs by the door where you left us” “Where? I don’t see you” “Where are you?” Isaid. “I don’t know I just walked here and I don’t see you.” he says. As my blood pressure rises, “look around and describe where you are. Are there check-in counters, stairs, anything?” I say. “Oh there is an escalator going down, s o I must be upstairs.” DUH!!!!! We are downstairs where you left us. Now he is freaking because he heard that it will take us at least 40 mins to get thru security. 10 mins later we are at our gate waiting with two fidgety kids, stressed out woman, and a man that has no clue why I am slowly going nuts. In the end, Our first leg to Salt Lake was nice. The kids enjoyed playing with their own TV screens and checking out all the goodies I packed in their bags. 1 hour layover and we are on to Chicago and the kids are still doing great, even the stress woman and clueless man are talking and laughing about how he had to share half his seat with a man. LOL! Uncle B picked us up and promptly forgot where he parked, runs in the family, at least he knew the level and area number, just not how to get to it. We are at Ohare airport which is huge so I can understand. Get to the house 1hr and half later, great Aunt V and the dog, teeth brushed, bed clothes on and all in bed by midnight. LOL!!! I fell asleep with the thought in my head that I should never travel with this Man again. There should be a law that husbands travel on separate planes/days of their wives. I know I have quite a few wives out there that will agree. Vote now!
Okay, a gripe to the airlines, Yes I only paid the discount price for my tickets ($191 ea) but I think I deserve to have a better snack other then sun chips, cheese crackers, nuts, or granola bar. Will it hurt to offer a prewrap ham sandwich. I should not have to buy one of the airports meals for $7 that has strange breads and filling that kids will not eat. Let me bring in my own fried chicken from home if you are going to be stingy with your food. Okay grip over. LOL!
Day 2
Holy crap!!! Why is it so damn bright in here? (Those are words coming out of The Man and my mouths) and shut that stupid bird up!! Yes folks, not a good way to start your vacation with the sun beaming a light right through the big uncertain arched window at 6am and a cockatiel singing his heart out. We are darkroom people, not ‘let the sunshine in first thing in the morning people’. Oh well might as well get up and feed the kids sleeping in the living room. Me being the gracious wife let The Man shower first while I pulled the cover back over my head. LOL!! My turn and I also ask the Man if he would see if the kids have eaten yet since Aunt and Uncle are up already. After my shower I am doing my hair and I hear this in the kitchen…..
Miss Grumpy: “Dad!! You know how to cook?!!!”
The Man: “Of course I know how to cook.”
Miss Grumpy: “Then why don’t you do it at home?”
Aunt V: Laughing her head off she has tears in her eyes.
Me: Laughing so hard that I stuck lipstick on my teeth.
Anyway, we put together a grocery list for Aunt V and made plans to take MIL her dress and shoes but first making a stop at Older SIL house (Oh God). 45mins drive and we are there. (May I add that we saw a lot of beautiful houses along the way. Huge houses!! We get to SIL house and OMG the place is falling down. Ever since FIL died 3 yrs ago they just let things go. The upstairs bathroom they keep locked because it is falling apart. Now this is the only bathroom that has a tub/shower, so we wondered how they cleaned themselves. Anyway, my nephew was home and he played with Boy and Girl. He is a very intelligent 6 yr old except for the fact that he is obsessive about sports, football, baseball, wrestling, anything, and he can tell you what time an day they come on. Yep folks, he has a touch of Autism and I noticed a lot of other indicators but there is no way I can say anything because this is my vacation.
Anywho, The man and I are sitting on the couch and SIL is sitting on the floor in front of us , she is wearing very short loose shorts with her legs bent, so imagine what We on the couch is looking at. Yes folks, we spent a lot of the time looking at the ceiling, walls, and each other. When she finally gets up to go in the other room, the Man turns to me “Did I just see that? It was just not right. The woman is crazy.” All I could do was laugh and quickly moved to a kitchen chair. Well later I find out that she wears this outfit to the kid’s school to help in the classroom. OMG!!!
When MIL makes it back to her nursing home, we gather the kids check them for bugs (j/k) and headed out to see her. Turns out the drive is only about 15-20mins from SIL house. She was so happy to see us and the nurses knew who we were instantly since they seen the kids pics all the time. The dress fit her great but the shoes did not but she did have a nice pair that looked good with the dress. We talked for over an hour and since it was getting near dinner time we headed out for the long drive back home. It was hard seeing her in that home but she need to take her meds and this is the only way to get her to do it. She is also getting a hump, in fact, I noticed that SIL was getting a little one too.
Uncle B has some awesome ribs ready for us and chicken strips for the kids. We sat out on the back deck and watched the kids play in the grass, glorious, wondrous grass with the dog. The air was chilly but we bought sweatshirts with us and the night was clear.
Gotta order pizza and play games with kids, I’ll be back
Disclaimer: During most of our outbursts the kids had on their headsets and missed most the bad words. LOL

An update before I go on a mini vacation to Chicago.
-Today was the Boy last day of preschool. It is official now that he will be going to kindergarten. July 16 I will be walking my boy to his classroom line every day for half a day. I worry because he is going to be on his own since it was decided that we will try and see how he’ll do without an assistant. Once he gets a routine he will be fine. I wonder what is wife is going to do since she will stay behind in preschool. LOL!!
-The Girl aka Miss Grumpy has been testing us left and right with her mouth. Yesterday she was told to go turn off her TV and she mumble that we left our bedside radio on so we should turn it off. Computer time was taken away but that didn’t stop her from stomping around and bugging Sean enough to make him cry. I swear if it was illegal I would lock her in a closet. On a good note, she achieved the trophy for top reader in the 3rd grade with 401 points. So tomorrow she will attend the all day party at school for all the level 15 readers. They got a company that is coming to provide a slime entertainment. They also get to eat fun foods, play games, win more prizes, watch a movie. Her class is putting on 4 mini plays for us parents at 1pm. I should be really fun since I’ve been helping with the props and going over their lines. The Man even gets to attend for once.
Tomorrow is the last full day of school for her also. We are heading to Phoenix at 930a on Weds to fly to Chicago. It is my BIL’s wedding. It is going to be fun but full of drama because of both SILs. They are just being total pain in the butts. I will try to remember all that happen there and write about it later.
I will also get to meet some of my internet Mommies. I can’t tell you how excited I am! Thank you Ms A. for the use of your house!
Everyone is pack! Yes, you read that right, everyone including The Man. I almost fainted when he said he is going to pack his bag this afternoon. LOL!! He started his vacation time today and already is messing up my routine. I sent him to the driving range to practice. The Girl and I are getting manicures tomorrow evening and getting pedicures in Chicago with Aunt-in-law. The Girl also has memorized her poem that she is going to recite at the wedding. I am so proud of her even if she does drives me nuts at time.
I can’t wait to get away from this heat even if it means ‘freezing’ our butts in 60 degree weather. LOL!! Oh and to make things interesting this is the time for the cicadias to arrive, just perfect timing LOL!!
See ya in a week or so!!!

I got some updating to do!!
On the home front…
Miss Grumpy has been asked to read a poem at her Uncle’s wedding. I think it came about because we just found out that the bride has decided to make the wedding ‘adults only’. The only kids allowed are my 2, and both SIL’s 2 kids since each have a daughter in the wedding also.
What got me was that there was no indication of this on the invitations. I would’ve been very pissed if we flew all the way up there only to have one of us miss the wedding because we had to stay at the hotel with the kids. It is putting a strain on the other family members that are local to find a sitter. Problem for a few is that the people that usually watch their children are going to the wedding. I think there is going to be another uproar at this wedding.
Mr. Mouth is having a trike-a-thon tomorrow at school. He is looking forward to it. On Wednesday I attended a meeting to discuss the plan for his kindergarten curriculum, with his team. They are going to continue his speech therapy and also observe and see if we should do behavior therapy. They don’t do sensory therapy since he is not handicap per say. But since they do a lot of hands on things in class he is getting therapy in a way. After hearing about his ways in class and how he corrects people the teacher rep said she had better be on her toes and make sure she makes no mistakes or he will let her know. Since he is off the charts for requirements academically they are going to have to come up with a plan to fit him. I am so lucky that I am in this school district. The whole team has been so helpful and has guided me into the right directions. I guess we will not be moving from for a while
It is also the teacher’s talent show too. It is a fun time for the students to watch their teachers do nutty things. I get a kick out of the assortment of things they come up with. My school was not like this when I was young.
Today I spent a couple hours vacuuming the backyard. It is that time of the year when I have to go there and become a giant dust bunny. The cold snaps and snow we had wrecked havoc on a lot of the plants and cacti. Some died and others just turned into brown dangerous thorn infested plants. A few weeks ago The Man and I cut down 2 plants and pulled up 1 really huge cactus. We also saw that neighbor’s plants were claiming some space too. At that time it was declared that the H ome Depot card from Christmas is going towards a chainsaw.. LOL Well, during the time since then the 2 plants we cut down has grown back almost 2 feet. As revenge, I have acquired numerous scratches and pokes from the thorns. We are definitely at war plants, just wait til The Man gets home and we will see who has the last poke!
Thank goodness!!! That boy is finally gone off AI. If I had to see or hear him sing one more week I would’ve banned AI from this house. I like Blake and Melinda.
I am watching the A mazing Race. My favorite team made a wrong choice and got eliminated. The ones that are left are making it hard to choose. I am pulling for the all men team. the beauty queens are totally getting on my nerves.
I don’t know who started this but here is my own “What was I thinking photos?”from the 60s, 70s, 80s and a 90 I think. Hold all laughter til the end please.
I started as a cute babygirl in 1962, and toddler

Then I grew up…That awful class picture

Then I made a good decision for Senior prom 1980 I think I was a size 0.

Then I joined the military and went out into the world on my own with no one to help me, stop me.

where are my pants? IT was the style then people in Cali. Don't you love the window cover and the sleeve cut outs? (1983)
My pat Benatar headband (1982)

The stirrup leggings and long sweater look (1986) Poof hair

I think I was in a modeling contest here. The leather look and ruffle skirt look. My shoes were 3 inch heels that was silver metal. I loved those shoes!!(86)

Short hair time!!! Note that I am wearing the same top.

Back to long hair, Long Poofy hair I couldn't get the bangs right (1988)

I move to Hawaii and lost my mind and hair again. (89) Wish I still had that body though.

Happy New Year (1991 San Fran) Why didn't my bestfriend say something? But hey it was the see through shirt fad time.

Ahhh!1 Back to normal!! Before hubby and kids(1993)

Okay you can all commence to laugh, faint or whatever you choose to do. My kids will have fun with these pictures in the future. I can see the arguements over outfits and they pull these out. LOL!!

I am feeling much better right now!! No fake smile. Thank you all!!
Well poor hubby has been gone for a week and a half now with a week and a half to go. He is in Anchorage, Alaska working 12 hour shifts. Poor Guy is really home sick except for the part of having a king size bed to himself. LOL!! He is staying at a 5 star hotel that is on a lake that he can't get a chance to appreciate it all. One thing he says all the time is that there are dead animal everywhere on the walls. He went to visit a friend and was offered a chance to stay overnight but he couldn't because of all the dead faces on the walls there too. LOL!! We Miss Him Lots!!!
Miss Grumpy just completed a week of AIMS testing at school. We made it fun by sneaking in banned junk like gum to be chewed only in class. Smarties candy to be eaten when the brain starts to hurt from all the questions. Lots of yummy snacks that was for break times. She was awarded the Principal award for the 3rd quarter. We are so proud!!! But man, those mood swings are killing us. The Man got to witness her at her worse just before he left when we went shopping for a pair of winter boots. Yeah, I know, looking for a pair of winter boots for The Man to wear in Alaska in Arizona when it is 90 degrees outside is not easy. Miss Grumpy pulled a hissy fit when we would not get her first a pair of high heel boots. Why?? It is going to be 120 degrees in another month. Next, it was over a pair of high heel wedge shoes. People the high was as high as the shoe I have (notice I wrote shoe singular). Hell no, you are only 9 and there is no need to ruin your feet yet and where are you going to wear them? They are banned at school, you can't wear them to play, so where? What is wrong these manufacturers of kids shoes?
The Boy Wonder is doing great in school. He told me he was learning about caterpillers and plants. Little did I know at the time was that he was correcting the teachers and letting them know that when the caterpiller wrapped itself it was a "Crystalis" . Kindergarten has better be prepared for him instead of the other way around. LOL!! This week we had our bad moments of him exploding over some seeds that he had to get at the school before we could get in the car, exactly 10 seeds. Needless to say we are usually the last few to leave the school.
Easter was okay. We went to an afternoon service and then an egg hunt. The kids got the eggs and prizes, what did I get? I got a freaking nasty cactus stuck to my left hand. I am not talking about a few thorns, the damn thing was this plum size thing that had thorns with barbs. The more I tried to pull it off the more that got stuck in my thumb and pointer finger. The assistant minister's wife got scissors and cut the thorns that was attached to me. I then proceed to pull out 16 barbs one by one from my hand. The more I pulled the more my skin ripped. My personal doctor keep telling me "Mom, why don't we just put a bandaid on the ouwies". Son if only it was that simple. By the time I was done I had sweated all my makeup off and had sweat going down my back and it wasn't from menopause hot flashes for once. LOL!! The hand is all better after a soaking in peroxide and a couple Shrek bandaids from my 'doctor'. LOL I guess all the prickly plants in my yard are getting revenge for us digging up some of their friends. Well, I have news for them they are slowly going to get dugged up. Who is next they will never know but the war is on now. LOL!!
I get to watch my friend's 3 kids this weekend. Their Dad just returned from a deployment and have to go to a base outside Vegas for an award ceremony so they are making it a mini honeymoon. Thank goodness 2 of the kids are teenagers. We are all going bowling on Saturday since the little ones are always talking about it. I have a bunch of movies to last us a few hours. So I will be alright, and I get to experience having 5 kids. LOL!!
Well I have told myself that I will get to bed early tonight and get a few hours of sleep. It is windy outside and the pollen and dust is blowing everywhere. Everyone is sneezing and has itchy eyes even the loony cat whom decided that she has to sleep in Boy's old bouncer/rocking chair everynight keeping watch over him.
((((HUGS)))) to all those Ladies out there that really need it and to those that just like to have a hug for the hell of it.

Turning off my smile defenses
I could feel you inside me even though you barely moved. You stretched had the hiccups a lot. Even then I knew something was wrong because my stomach was always tight almost like you had no room. I guess there wasn’t any room since you decided to move out on Valentine’s day to meet me. You was early but perfect in everyway. You never had to spend any time in the nursery. We stared at each other often. I saw how stubborn you could be by not drinking out of a bottle but choose a cup until we both got the hang of breast-feeding. You got jaundice and I got sick. We got better and then we went home.
Why won’t he stop crying?? I was constantly asked that question by people, hubby and even by myself. My arms hurt from holding him so much, my breasts ache from the frequent feedings that just seem to fill him up for a little while. Thank goodness for the binky. It’s got to be colic. 2months old and you are jetting off in an airplane. You awed people that groaned when we first got on the plane by sleeping or just gazing around and even having a sip of breast milk. I was so proud.
Why don’t you sleep? I am tired, so tired. I hear of babies that slept through the night by 2 months, 4 months, 6 months. It’s making me nuts. I slept walked during the day. At night it was you and I watching late night TV ads. There was no cry-it-out because you could not comfort yourself and Dad had to sleep so that he could go to work. Aww but you smile and I was fine with having to survive on 3-4 hrs of sleep. Those beautiful eyes of yours just showed the love you had for me. My God I love you!!
The washing machine rock!! You loved the washing machine so much. We laughed at how you would bang on the machine an when it would stop spinning. Back and forth you would rock on your hands and knees. Little did we know.
“Oh he will talk when he is ready”, “My sister’s baby didn’twalk til late”, “He seem fine to me”, and “He’ll go potty soon”. Why do I keep telling myself “No, something is wrong”? Why do I want something to be wrong with my babyboy? What in the hell is wrong with me? I know that deep down inside of me that I am right.
OMG!! He is writing his letters! 2yrs old and writing with no help. Operating the computer like a kindergartener. Yet he barely talks. Saying Mama, Dada, and other single words is not talking from what I learned. He should be talking in phrases at least. He has his own made up words that we learned to associate to things but could be really irritating.
The fighting between Mama and Dada was increasing. I just turn inward the hurt. I kept that smile on my face. This is my problem, no need to bother others with it. I am losing it slowly inside.
The crying has decreased but not enough. Little things sets it off. Oh wonders of wonders, He taught himself to swing. It seem to soothe babyboy down so we let him do it. As soon as he gets up in the morning he is at the sliding door with the cat and they both wait until someone opens the door so that they can head to the swingset. Thank goodness for the wall of windows so that I can go in and out to the kitchen.
We’re moving and everyone is excited but not really. How will the kids handle being displaced? How will I? 2 years later and I still don’t feel like I belong. But things could be worse. As a couple we are closer then ever. The Girl is growing fast and learning so much in a great school.
The Boy-
Walking to school is an adventure, with only one vehicle I have no choice but to walk. Will this be an easy walk back and forth or will something set the Boy off?
“I need my rock!!!!!” “We have to reverse and start over MOM!!” “NO!!!! There are rocks on the bridge. We can’t cross!” “I didn’t get to say bye to my sister!!” “The cars are too loud!!”
Have you ever tried to find a specific rock in a bed of a million other rocks at 8am in 40 degree weather? Have you ever laid down in the middle of a sidewalk or crosswalk to try to get you child to return to this world and not his? Have you ever had to remember every sentence so that you had to repeat it back word for word because you accidentally inserted a word that the child insist should not be there? Have you wanted to just walk away from that child and leave him? I mean really leave him. Then cried so much because you actually thought this even though you love this child so much it hurts.
Why do you spin? Why do we have to count the same rocks every time we walk to school? Why do we have cars lined up all through the house but you don’t really play with them. No brushing your hair let alone cutting it while you was awake, so I did it when you fell asleep with a comb and scissors.
I got tired of people telling me it was just a phase. Oh and those looks you get from people that act like they have never seen a child act up in their whole lives. I need help.
Thank God for my school district. They believed me when I said something is just not right. He can’t talk well at all but yet he knows his states and can read a little bit. 3.5 yrs old. He draws pictures like a kindergartener or 1st grader. But he can’t play with others. He gets to close. He repeats what is said to him back at you. He knows how to mimic so many sounds. So off to preschool he goes. I get 2.5 hrs to myself and miss him so much.
“I would like some juice please!” He actually said a whole sentence and he used the word ‘I’ not “Sean”. OMG!1 I am so happy. Why? most people ask. Because he has never talked to us like that before that is why.
4.8 yrs old- He is fully potty trained!! WOOHOO!!
5 yrs old – Diagnosis – Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Integration Disorder, Hyperlexia
Finally, I was told I am not crazy!! And my son is not crazy either. He is who he is!!
We just have to learn to cope with all that he is going through, but let me tell you that at times it is hard.
You get tired of having to explain why your child has to carry an item in his hands most times. He drinks out of a sippy cup 50% of the time. He can open a simple package of crackers. Why he screams if a person touch him on the arm. Why he talks like a TV show at times. Why he don’t know how to ask questions or hold a long conversation. Stop encouraging him to say “whatever” and “nevermind” over and over because you think it is cute even when we say to not to. Don’t shake your head at me when he has a meltdown, a sound may be hurting his ears at that time. he may be having a sensory overload. Don’t tell me that I should discipline him more, You should hear me yell at home sometimes. “Get off my back!!!!!!!” I want to scream so many times.
I have to go through this alone sometimes because The Man has to work crazy hours or go on trips for 3 weeks. I have to make things good for The Girl too so that she is not left behind. So where does that leaves me? Who knows, maybe I will find her in a few years. I want to get them to where they both will survive in this world.
I know that my boy will be great when he grows up. It is just the hard journey getting there. So Baby boy please forgive Mommy when she yell, cries, or walk away for a sec. I love you so much with all my heart. Your smile just lights up my heart, And that wonderful sound of your laughter is infectious. When you come up to me and out of the blue just give me the biggest hug and kiss I melt!! Oh you may never play softball or football but you love my favorite sport Bowling! and that is good enough for me.

What is wrong with voters?
I am talking about AI. How could they not send Sanjaya home. Stop with the pity votes people, it is not fair for the others. So what Brandon forgot his words at least he wasn't terrible.UGH!!! Why am I putting myself thru this? Because my daughter insist and someone got me hooked last year and she knows who she is. ROFL!!!
That opening song they did was painful to my ears. They sound good as long as they sing together but as solos quite a few of them sounded like crap.
Paula really need to check into rehab or get help for herself.
I loved Ms Ross dress. She looks good for an old woman. I'l take her body and Tina Turner's legs. I could wear that to BIL wedding to piss of SILs. ROFL!!!!!! The Man would kill me.
On a personal note....The Man is taking his promotion tests today for his next stripe. Send some passing vibes this way. That would be some nice money if he makes it even though by the time he gets to sew it on it will be over a yr. LOL!!
School break is getting old already. The Boy is daily crying to see his "wife" Elizabeth. The Girl is always in my shadow. She did read Wiz of Oz and loved it. We also made paper mache hands yesterday. Okay, the Boy lasted all of 5 mins and then he had to wash his hands and the Girl decided to play in water.
We have been going as a family with The Man when he gets up and go run/walk/scooter/bike all together. This week his schedule has been a mess because of meetings and tests so we missed a few days. Sat. and Sun. is the base's Air Show and the Man is working a booth all day Sat. It is going to be 93 degrees and I am not going unless he really, really begs me. So far, we have been able to not turn on the AC.
The backyard is being pared down slowly. We are tired of the dangerous plants that have taken over in areas. They are not going without a fight and we have the scars to prove it. The Man even broke out in hives over something so I can see in my future that it will be Me doing a lot of cutting and chopping. Vacumning the rocks time is approaching soon. Stay tune. LOL!!
